Public Citizen Theatre presents a trio of staged readings showcasing the works of three women writers from the early 20th Century: Rachel Crothers, Susan Glaspell, and Zona Gale.
Jul 27-29:
He and She by Rachel Crothers—an examination of society's attitudes towards women's work in the 1920's, written in 1920.
Aug 10-12:
The Outside and Woman's Honor by Susan Glaspell—these two one-acts by the woman called "The First Lady of American Drama," tackle the subjects of grief, justice, and women's roles in society.
Aug 24-26:
Miss Lulu Bett by Zona Gale—an adaptation of her own novel about a woman's search for self-fulfillment, with an ending so impactful it's often cited as the reason she won the Pulitzer Prize for drama.
Jul 27-29:
