This is one of the most frustrating thing about Portland NIMBYs (and NIMBYs generally, I suppose) - they think that the public street in front of their house that we all pay for is somehow "theirs" - fuck no it ain't. If you decide you want to use your garage for storage instead of parking, and now have trouble finding a parking spot on the public street, tough nuts. We're not here to publicly subsidize the storage of your private automobile conveniently close to your house.
