Long Day's Journey Into Night
In this abstract, non-linear noir from Chinese director Bi Gan, a man wanders the city of his childhood, looking for a lost lover. The movie culminates in a nearly hour-long single take in 3D—yes, you put on the glasses midway through the movie—that feels like wandering through somebody else’s dream. It’s ravishingly pretty to look at, and almost impossible to make sense of.
